The winner of the 2010 Project Linus blanket making contest was Tricia McCarthy. There were several other prizes awarded to those whose names
were entered in the contest. Seventy blankets were completed and Karen
and Kim were excited about the quality and creativity in them. Jelly
rolls of fabric, batting, and other notions and patterns were among the prizes
donated by several fabric shops and vendors.

My granddaughter's first grade class was talking about heritage and
handing down family traditions. When my daughter-in-law heard that my
grandmother taught me to sew, she came up with the idea that because
Grammy Carol is teaching Melody how to sew, we should teach the whole
class to sew.
