Friends and Needles Quilt Guild  - 30 Years and Counting

August 2015 Friends & Needles Newsletter

Another successful quilt show is over and it is time to begin a new year of quilt guild. Our opening meeting is Tuesday September 8, 6:30pm, at the Houlton Regional Hospital meeting room.  Notice this is after Labor Day, rather than the first Tuesday of the month.

The Executive committee met last week to outline plans for this year.  These plans will be revealed at the first meeting and reflect the responses to the online survey Kim sent out last Spring.

The first workshop is Saturday October 10 with Pat LaPierre teaching domestic machine quilting (See information below).  Pat will also be presenting a Trunk Show of her work, Friday evening October 9 starting 6 PM, which will replace our October Guild Meeting.  Pat's philosophy is everyone can free motion quilt and she has lots of samples to show during her trunk show.  These special events will be held at the Higher Education Center.  Be ready to sign up at the September meeting, if interested.  Sign up will be with Workshop Chairs, Kim Hazlett or Tammy Ritchie.

November Workshop will be taught by our own Peggy Crane of Rather B. Quilting showing us the wonderful technique of Bargello.  Pattern and date will be announced soon.  Sign up list will be available at the September meeting or email Kim Hazlett at kquilts1212@gmail.com if you are interested.

Hoping to see you all, Tuesday September 8, 6:30pm, HRH.
